Flange rating or class is a term that refers to the maximum pressure (in either psi or bars) that a flange  can withstand at increasing temperatures. Those flanges which have a higher rating or class tend to be stronger as compared to flanges that have a lower class or ratings. This is because high rated flanges with ansi 1500 lb flange dimensions are able to bear mych more pressure at increasing temperatures.

2 1500 lb rtj flange dimensions made in different materials will demonstrate a different pressure-temperature performance even though they have the same rating.  Pressure rating of a flange can be defined as the maximum allowable pressure that a flange could withstand at increasing temperatures. According to the specification for ANSI/ASME B16.5, there are seven flange pressure ratings or pressure classes. These seven pressure ratings are as follows - 150, 300, 400, 600, 900, 1500, and 2500. 1500 lb rtj flange dimensions  for the ASME B16.5 - Pipe Flanges as well as  Flanged Fittings: NPS 1/2 Metric/Inch through NPS 24 Metric/Inch Standard.

1500 LB Flange Dimensions includes the Bolt circle diameters, which are about 1/8 inch larger as compared to the bolt diameter. Generally, terms such as pressure rating, #, class, Lb or Lbs are interchangeable. Which means that  all the fore mentioned terms refer to the same exact concept of pressure and temperature performance of a flange. Besides flanges, these terms may also be used interchangeably for other equipment such as valves, fittings, etc.

The below mentioned example illustrates the point above:
If two flanges have the same bore size, say for instance  6 inches and both the flanges are constructed from  the same material say, grade A105. But both the flanges have two different pressure ratings . One flange has a pressure rating of 150, while the other flange has a pressure rating of 300. In this case, the lower rated flange i.e. - class 150 will be lighter, smaller and less robust as compared to the much higher rated flange which in this case is a class 300 Flange. Typically, the 1500 lb slip on flange dimensions are available in inches.

1500 lb weld neck flange dimensions are usually furnished with a ¼ inch raised face unless otherwise specified by the buyer and a Flat face option is also available in 1500 lb blind flange dimensions.
