Inconel is an austenitic super alloy, whose primary alloying materials are nickel and chromium. ASTM B166 Inconel 600 bolts and nuts can be both hot formed and cold formed using conventional forming techniques. Hot working the Inconel 600 nut and bolt should be performed between a temperature range of 1600° F to 2250° F. But Heat treating the alloy between 1200 ° F - 1600° F, must be avoided as the ductility of the alloy decreases in this temperature range.
Welding Inconel 600 can be achieved via techniques like TIG, shielded metal-arc welding and MIG.
