Incoloy alloys, including Incoloy 800 and Nickelvac 825 Flanges, are two of the most highly sought  alloys. Forging of Incoloy can be carried out between a temperature range of 2200 ºF to 1600ºF , while heavy forging is carried out in between  a temperature range of 2200 ºF to 1850ºF . Since, chromium carbide precipitation tends to occur at a temperature range of  1400 ºF to 1000ºF, these parts must be rapidly cooled through this temperature range. Incoloy can be annealed at temperatures between 1800 ºF to 1900ºF. Once annealing is complete, the alloy  must preferably be water quenched in order to avoid carbide precipitation.

Incoloy 800 Flange is readily machined by conventional shop methods. Using coated carbide tools or high-speed steel tools is dependent on both the machining operations as well as the conditions used to machine the alloy.
